This is the same approach we take with your business. Over time processes either become obsolete, are just known and therefore not updated, or external factors drive a need for a review such as an acquisition or when standing up a new business unit.
1. What’re the processes
Underpinning everything done in business is a process, from how to login to the approach taken for decision making and strategy. We start by understanding your process, whether this means reviewing what you already have or working with your team to document them all. We also look at how well they are being followed; it’s not uncommon that processes aren’t maintained due to an issue so unwritten rules become the norm to get things done.
2. Audit
Taking what we’ve learnt, we create a health check for each department to use as a base for determining what’s next. This looks at what does or doesn’t exist, what works well, what doesn’t, and where improvement could be used to increase efficiency. We also appreciate that some areas can be more prescriptive where others cannot and factor this in.
3. Supporting an uplift
We work with you to redefine the processes in the business, including how outcomes are measured, managed, and reported on. This is a huge change management effort, so we appreciate this can take time and needs to be done in stages.
4. Closing the loop
Once uplifted, how do you train new people in the business? We work with you to close the loop and review how different teams onboard people into roles to ensure that all the information they need is available and their first few weeks are clear and simple with joining the way things are done in your business. We also ensure that people have mechanisms to voice future improvements or opportunities, and we can help you with those too.
